Growing up, Angela lived in 3 countries on 3 continents which helped shape her understanding of the role culture and environment plays on the family unit. Angela became a lawyer because of her desire to advocate for the rights of the underprivileged. Angela earned her undergraduate high honours degree in Legal Studies at Carleton University in Ottawa in 1999 where she was exposed to various legal theories of knowledge. She was recipient of King McShane Award of Civil Liberties at Carleton University.
Angela graduated from law school at University of Ottawa in 2004 and was called to the Bar in 2005. Angela has worked as family law lawyer law from the commencement of her career. She worked in all areas of family law including international family law matters. Throughout her legal career, Angela has won numerous awards, including the 3 Best Rated Divorce Lawyers In Ottawa.
Angela has always wanted to become a mediator, but her busy litigation practice did not afford her the opportunity to do so. With the closure of courts in 2020, she had finally found the time to fulfil this goal. She obtained a Qualified Mediator Certificate from Herzing College with a 4.0 GPA. A year after, Angela received her Collaborative training and became a Collaborative family law lawyer.
Angela’s vast experience is an asset to those engaged in the Collaborative process. Through the Collaborative process, parties reach a livable, workable solution with the assistance of professionals such as herself. From her experience, Collaborative process is by far her most favorite process for it enables all of us to work together towards a common goal in the most respectful, effective, efficient manner.
