Kathy is a practicing lawyer for over 40 years. She is currently working as counsel in the Oakville office of Stoner & Company Family Law.
Kathy was called on the Ontario Bar in 1980 after graduating from McGill University law school. Katherine has practiced in the civil and family law areas since her call to the Bar. In addition, during her time while practicing in the Hamilton Unified Family Court, after her call to the Bar, she was a representative of the Children’s Lawyer, representing the best interests of the children in the cases before that court.
Katherine recently completed a Family Law mediation course and the OACP Basic Interdisciplinary Collaborative Training
In addition to her practice, Katherine is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Hamilton Law Association, and is a current member of the Board of Directors of the Halton County Law Association, and a member of the executive of the Family Law Section of the Ontario Bar Association (OBA), and a member of the executive of the Family Law section of the CBA. She is a mentor lawyer to young lawyers who are proceeding to be licensed to practice law in Ontario through the Law Practice Program (LPP) at Ryerson University, and a tutor in family law for the Law Society of Upper Canada Bar Admission Program. In addition to being a new member of the Hamilton Halton Collaborative group, she is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the American Bar Association, Hamilton Law Association, Halton County Law Association, Advocate’s Society, and the AFCC (Association of Family and Conciliation Courts), Ontario branch.
Katherine has resided in Oakville with her husband and children for the past 35 years. Since December of 2016, she also volunteers in the Oakville Hospital, and has recently become a member of the Board of Directors of Oakville Hospital Volunteer Association (OHVA).
